To cut a long story short, we have signed a tenancy agreement to take on an allotment.
The nice man from the council showed us around the available plots across two sites and after a bit of thinking time, we chose a plot that is a decent size, fairly flat and (if memory serves) doesn't look like it will be too much trouble to get started with.
Some of the plots were very overgrown and one still had a greenhouse on it, which we were told we could have if we took on that plot. This was tempting for a minute or two until Paul questioned whether it was safe. In truth it didn't look like it would last the Winter in one piece and could well be a liability.
Just waiting on the key to arrive and then we can go and get a better look, take measurements and start planning what to grow.
